In a move signaling a return to normalcy, the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced the resumption of crude oil shipments from its key ports at Das and Zirku islands in the Persian Gulf. This development follows the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, which has contributed to improved conditions and is expected to ensure uninterrupted maritime traffic through the critical Strait of Hormuz.
ADNOC confirmed that crude cargoes have been ready for loading since April 27. The company has emphasized the importance of collecting scheduled shipments, cautioning that any delays might be seen as a breach of contractual obligations. To assist buyers facing logistical challenges, ADNOC has offered support through its own or affiliated tanker fleets, underscoring its commitment to maintaining its role as a leading oil exporter in the region.
This resumption is part of broader efforts by Gulf oil producers to restore normal export operations following recent disruptions. ADNOC, which has successfully sold tens of millions of barrels through tenders, continues to be a significant player in the region’s oil export market. In a strategic bid to reduce dependence on the Strait of Hormuz, the United Arab Emirates is actively expanding alternative export routes. This includes accelerating infrastructure projects aimed at increasing pipeline capacity to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. By enhancing these routes, the UAE aims to facilitate more crude exports that can bypass the strategically sensitive waterway, securing a more stable path for its oil to reach global markets.
